Solving the Organizational Complexity of Digital Value Creation

Nico Wunderlich is an Assistant Professor in Information Systems. Nico’s research examines the impacts of digital value creation in increasingly distributed and decentralized socio-technical systems, such as workgroups, companies, and networked ecosystems. Nico assesses the specifc outcomes of digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and the Internet of Things from an integrated value perspective. With a quantitative focus, Nico analyzes data in mixed methods, computational data science, and design science studies. Through his research initiatives, Nico provides insights into the dynamics of digital value creation, the implications for corporate strategy, and conditions around digital knowledge work.

Nico holds a doctorate in Information Systems from the AACSB-accredited Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. During his PhD, Nico had a Fellow Research Scholarship at the Department of Information Systems and the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. In 2023, he spent a visit as a guest researcher at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA. Nico’s multidisciplinary and cross-cultural research aims to combine diverse abilities to provide impactful results and insights for the good of business and society.
